Pull length is based on the size of the door or drawer it's going on. For standard drawers, 3–4" pulls are common. For larger drawers and base cabinets, 5–8" bar pulls look most proportional. This is a style choice, but there's a common convention: knobs on doors, pulls on drawers. Many homeowners use pulls throughout for a cleaner, more modern look. The cleanest approach is to match your hardware finish to your faucet and light fixture finish. If you're running brushed gold plumbing, brushed gold hardware ties the room together. If you want intentional contrast — like matte black hardware with chrome plumbing — keep it consistent throughout the space so it reads as a design decision, not an accident.

Matte and satin finishes show fewer fingerprints and scratches than polished finishes. Brushed nickel and matte black are among the most durable for high-traffic kitchens. Polished chrome and polished brass look stunning but require more upkeep. We'll tell you honestly what to expect from any finish you're considering.
