MSI Rockmount California Gold Slate Ledger Panels

California Gold is a natural slate stacked-stone ledger panel from MSI's Rockmount collection, blending deep browns, grays, and rust-gold tones drawn from rugged natural landscapes. Each interlocking wall-cladding panel is dry-stacked from hand-split strips of real slate, so the natural cleft, texture, and color shift from piece to piece for authentic, one-of-a-kind character. Precision-cut backs let the panels lock together in grout-free courses on interior features like fireplace surrounds and backsplashes as well as exterior cladding and pool surrounds.

Features

• 100% natural slate: a rich multicolor blend of browns, grays, and rust-gold tones
• Interlocking wall cladding: panels dry-stack tightly in staggered courses for a seamless, grout-free ledgestone look
• Natural cleft & variation: hand-split faces give every panel unique texture and shade — expect natural variation from piece to piece
• Two coordinated pieces: a standard 6x24 in. flat panel plus a matching 6x18 in. (6x12x6) L-corner for clean outside corners
• Indoor & outdoor rated: kitchen backsplashes, fireplace surrounds, accent walls, outdoor pool features, and exterior cladding
• Sealer required: apply a penetrating stone sealer before and after installation and clean with neutral-pH stone cleaners, especially outdoors and around water

Coverage & Ordering

We recommend ordering about 10% extra for cuts and waste.

Tip: order your full project — including overage — in one purchase. Tile is produced in batches, and re-orders may ship from a different lot with slight shade variation.

You may also need

• Coordinating stone: California Gold Slate Tile & Flagstone for floors, hearths, and flat field areas, or the larger-format XL Rockmount Stacked Stone Panels in the same California Gold.
• Polymer-modified thinset mortar (ANSI A118.15) to bond panels to the substrate.
• Penetrating stone sealer — required before and after installation to protect the slate, especially outdoors and around water.
• Tile edging / metal trim to finish exposed panel edges where a corner piece isn't used.
• Grout or pointing mortar (optional) — dry-stack panels install grout-free, but a color-matched grout can fill joints if desired.
• Tile spacers to keep courses level as they set.

Pair it with our in-house Rose Hill Cabinets to complete the room.
