XL Rockmount is MSI's oversized natural stone stacked-stone program: 9x24 in. split-face ledger panels that cover 1.5 sq. ft. per piece and install faster with fewer joints than standard 6x24 ledgers, with matching 9x18 in. (9x12x6) L-corners to finish outside corners. Each of the 20 colors is 100% natural stone — marble, quartzite, limestone, slate, travertine, or sandstone depending on the color — rated for interior and exterior vertical applications such as accent walls, fireplace surrounds, backsplashes, facades, and retaining walls (not for flooring). Split-face / natural-cleft texture; modular grout-free design — panels stack tightly with staggered vertical joints and no grout lines
Suitable for interior and exterior walls: fireplaces, accent walls, backsplashes, facades, BBQ surrounds, planter and retaining walls (not rated for floors)
Install per MSI guidelines with polymer-modified mortar meeting ANSI A118.15, back-buttering each panel; exterior installs go over a scratch coat
As natural stone, panels should be protected with a penetrating sealer (MSI cites products such as 511 Impregnator), especially outdoors and around fireplaces
